“The ramblings and grumblings of author Ad Hudler”

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

This from my daily email from publishersmarketplace.com, the gossip sheet for authors, agents and publishers:

"As for the strangest and most embarrassing international news story, Penguin Australia reprinted 7,000 copies of the PASTA BIBLE due to a horrible typo. A recipe mistakenly called for "salt and freshly ground black people" instead of "pepper."

When I was in grad school a friend asked me to proof a big federal grant application for a large scale museum. About 15 people had already gone through it with a fine tooth comb, but she thought it was a good idea to have a set of fresh eyes. Good thing too. The word "Public" was spelled "Pubic" on the title page.
